  1. Product Description: 

Drive-In racking requires operators to drive into the racking system from one side and remove pallets from the same entry point.  Some Drive-In rack systems have a wall or are otherwise closed at the opposite end.

A simple way to identify a Drive-In Rack Systems is its LIFO inventory management.  Product is rotated in a Last-In, First-Out inventory manner because of the single entry/exit point.

The draw to a Drive-In rack system  is its extremely efficient storage concentration. Pallets are stored back-to-back without aisles for exceptionally dense storage. This style system is an excellent solution for product that is not time or date sensitive, or for fast moving pallets that are rotated frequently.

  The finish of all painted parts is an Epoxy-powder coating polymerized at 180 °C. 

The standard colors are RAL 5010 (= Dark Blue) for the frames and RAL 2004 (=pure orange) for the beams. Protectors are painted in RAL 1008 (= golden yellow). Some smaller parts have a galvanized finishing. Special colors are available on request. 

3 Drive in rail system
Drive in pallet rail incorporates a formed arm with stronger shape properties for a higher capacity and less rotation.  This Z-shaped geometric design provides sturdy support that runs the depth of the lane.  The “Z” Rail is a very cost effective solution for Drive-In Rack with added rail capacity. It can even be formed with pre-galvanized, zinc-coated steel for refrigerated systems or rust prevention.

The drive-in rack support arm can accommodate either rail system and both are interchangeable in the field. Support arms are available in single-sided for uprights or double-sided for center bay applications. They enable high density storage of pallets and are easy to assemble.

 

4. Material and Methodology: 

4.1 Raw material

The raw material of uprights, beams, rails and arms are structure carbon steel Q235B, equivalent to SS400.  The pallet rail is either galvanized or powder coated, with the material thickness from 2.0mm, 2.3mm, to 2.5mm. All components are manufactured to a code of practice as recommended by Storage Equipment Manufacturers Association(SEMA) and ISO 9001..

4.2 Paint finish

Parts contaminated with surface oil and dirt is first treated in the 5-stage-spray pretreatment plant. After the pretreatment process, the parts are dried in the dry-off oven at approximately 150 C to ensure removal of water and that the quality of phosphating is achieved.
